Meet the committees of Ipso Facto
Thanks to all the active members that are involved in the committees, because of you there is always something fun to do within our association! Do you want to be involved in organizing activities as well? We are always looking for new members to join. At every start of the year, there is a chance to get to know and meet all the committees, but you can also contact them during the year. Curious? Keep scrolling!
The Accie, also known as the Activity Committee, is one of Ipso Facto's most diverse committees. The Accie organizes an active, social, and creative activity at least once per period. From fun game or movie nights to pool at Infinity, bowling and ice skating. The Accie makes sure there’s always something fun to do! And of course, we can’t forget an Ipso classic organized by the Accie: our legendary hitchhiking weekend. This is the favorite activity of many Ipso members, which you will certainly remember from your time as a student here.
The purpose of the activities is to bring members of all disciplines and different years into contact with each other. For example, the committee helps to form a close-knit study association with a pleasant atmosphere where people know each other. Every activity is different, so there is always something fun for any member!
We are the coolest committee around: the Tripcie. As the name might already suggest, we organize awesome trips away. Every year, we plan a weekend getaway to a fun city. Last year, for example, we went to Cologne, where we thoroughly enjoyed the amazing “culture” it had to offer ;).
This year we’re heading to Antwerp, and once again we’ve got plenty of great activities lined up: a Crazy 88 challenge, a pub crawl, a museum visit, and throughout the entire weekend there will be an ongoing murder mystery game. And of course, there’s always plenty of room to organize even more fun activities.

The Hap- & Tapcie is ipso facto’s committee that cares about good food, great drinks, and a lot of fun! Throughout the year, we organize a variety of activities, from casual WOMIBOs (Wednesday afternoon drinks) and tosti lunches to Brak & Breakfast after a night out.
Our annual Christmas dinner is always a big favorite, and we also love to mix things up with unique events like Slime & Wine. Whatever the activity, the Hap- & Tapcie aims to create moments where everyone can come together and enjoy good food and drinks.
Once in a year, a fundraising week is being organized. The “Benefitcie” is responsible for this. Every year another charity is chosen, where the money raised that week goes to. Last year the charity was “Mama Cash”. Former activities during this week include for instance a movie night, a pancake dinner, or a performance by the Ipso band from the Muzicie. What makes this week really special, is that different committees work together to ensure a full program with lots of activities during this week!

The First-Year Committee is made up each year of an enthusiastic group of students who organize activities especially for the first-year students in our program. The highlight of the year is the First-Year Weekend! During this weekend, we host a variety of fun activities: such as a pub quiz, a scavenger hunt, and a themed party. This gives the first-years the opportunity to get to know each other better and create lasting memories of their student life.

Every year, we are looking for new members who would like to help organize this amazing weekend. The EJCIE is a great low-commitment committee: you will quickly get to know new people, gain valuable organizational experience, and of course join us for an unforgettable weekend!
A few times a year, Ipso Facto's magazine, the InFactie, lands on your doorstep. This magazine contains interesting and funny stories, experiences of fellow students and regular columns, such as “cribso facto”. It is always a pleasure to leaf through it, but even more fun to work on it!
The Promocie comes into play in everything that involves design and promotion. In this committee, all members work together and inspire each other with new ideas, which makes them a strong team!
For example, they design the always good-looking layout of Ipso Facto's magazine: the Infacto. In addition, they make cool and high-quality posters for the other committees' activities, and they can always contact them for this. Soon this committee will also start working with Ipso's social media channels, so stay tuned!
The education committee – as the name suggests – is the committee responsible for organizing educational activities which are relevant to the four studies making up Ipso Facto. The educational activities range from visiting companies, following workshops or career lectures, to excursions.
To give an impression of what those activities are, a list will follow of activities from the year 2022-2023: a guided tour at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a workshop fermenting kimchi (prevent food waste: ferment your leftovers!), a lecture on institutional change towards sustainability in the European banking sector given by an ASN-employee, and an excursion to the muZIEeum to experience being visually impaired.
At a study association, you can’t miss a committee that is responsible for the Gala! Because what could be more fun than appearing on the dance floor in a tight suit or in a prom dress? Think beyond a standard location, because in the year 2021/2022 the gala was held on a boat and we danced across the "Ei" in Amsterdam, after we took pictures in our fancy outfits on the deck in the setting sun.
To create the perfect gala, you as member, will be concerned with finding the location, partners, and of course, not to forget, the decoration!
The name actually gives it away, but the merchie is concerned with the Ipso Facto merchandise! They are responsible for producing and designing the coolest Ipso merch. For example, think of a shirt and a hoodie, but much more is possible! Their goal is that every proud Ipso Facto member shows their love for the association to the outside world by wearing the bright purple Ipso sweater, by doing groceries with the ipso tote bag or studying at the university with a laptop full of Ipso stickers. That ensures the ultimate group feeling with fellow Ipso members while walking around Wageningen! With about 5 members they provide the best merch. This is about 1 or 2 items per year, because more is unnecessary and not sustainable. Of course, that should also be considered!

Although Ipso Facto is a study association, there should of course be plenty of partying besides study related activities! This committee is responsible for that. They organize the most diverse activities that will get you excited right away! Think for example of a pub crawl, "shotsjes bingo", a beer tasting or "bier/bowling/bitterballen". One thing is key to the Baco: having fun together!
The Partcie (Partner Committee), formerly known as the Spoco (Sponsor Committee), is the committee responsible for the business side of Ipso Facto. One of the responsibilities is to recruit sponsors, but other collaborations are also part of the tasks of the Partcie. For example, we help SKOV organize activities such as the Africa day. We also have contact with other organizations and companies. We try to maintain these contacts and make new ones. As a member of the committee, you have a lot of freedom to determine what you do, and there is a lot of room to develop a bit of a business side during your study time! Would you like to collaborate with different organizations and companies and/or collect money for all kinds of fun activities of Ipso Facto? Then the Partcie is definitely the right place for you!
When you love music, the Muzicie brings everything together for you! Every genre is covered, and the kind of music differs from time to time. Everyone of this musical committee plays different instruments so every song changes the whole band formation. The most important thing of this committee is having fun together. Several times a year, they are giving a performance, for instance on a benefit concert. And have you ever wondered how a kazoo or the nose flute sounds? Try it at the Muzicie!
